Career: Vice President of Sustainability at Nichols Paper & Supply: Oversee our own sustainability efforts, LEED-EB O & M certification, and assist customers to implement their sustainability efforts: green cleaning and sustainable packaging programs. LEED Accredited Professional
Previous roles at Nichols: Vice President of Sales and Marketing for 6 years, Supply Manager for 5 years and in between those two positions I was project manager for our website and online ordering system for customers – we have had an internet based, fully integrated with our enterprise system online ordering system for customers for about 10 years now. When I handed that responsibility off about 11% of our orders were coming through this system.
Prior to Nichols I spent 18 years in the purchasing and inventory management field. I have a Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification.
Personal: I live in West Michigan, Muskegon to be more accurate and even more accurate, Egelston Township. I attended Muskegon Heights Public Schools for most of elementary and middle schools with a couple of years spent in the Mona Shores district. In 10th grade I went to Muskegon Catholic High School and graduated from there. I then went on to Muskegon Community College earning two associates degrees, Grand Valley State University where I earned my bachelors in Business and Baker College later where I earned a graduate degree in Leadership and a minor in International Business.
I am a life-long learner. I also received three professional credentials: CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management), and LEED AP BD+C (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Building Design and Construction. I continue to renew two of those credentials one every two years (LEED AP) and the CPIM every five years. I continue to take classes when it strikes me to do so and have completed courses in Lean practices, Photography, Interior Design to name a few.
One of my most proud accomplishments is TEDxMuskegon along with many others that have now helped make it happen for three years. I wish we could capture all of the stories about the connections that have been now made through TEDxMuskegon. Many of them have turned into long-term business relationships, career moves and friendships. My hope is that we can keep this going for years.
I enjoy photography, travel, reading, cooking, writing, and I have two Golden Retrievers (Mac and Trevor) that keep me quite busy.
